Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) in Nashville, TN to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

The EIC must have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years in a railroad setting (preferably maintenance of way), strong verbal and written communication, and a valid driver's license. Expect substantial travel and required safety training to perform duties effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years' railroad experience, preferably in maintenance of way.
• Proficiency with tablets, smartphones, and communication tools.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
• Ability to complete Federal, Client, and Company training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety by setting derails, track signs, and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination and radio contact with dispatchers.
• Conduct clear, concise job briefings with all crew members.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
• Communicate worksite safety status to train crews and supervisors.
