Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Experience in railroad or heavy construction preferred but not required.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Carry and place track materials using standard Railroad maintenance tools.
  • Install and maintain railroad tracks and embankments.
  • Attend to after-hour and weekend callouts for repairs.

What You'll Do
  • Carry and place track materials using standard Railroad maintenance track tools.
  • Install railroad tracks and embankments including special track work, road crossing signage, and rail lubricator.
  • Perform Railroad track maintenance and construction activities such as changing rails, ties, building track, and adjusting switches.
  • Operate picks, shovels, and spike mauls for long periods.
  • Operate specialized hydraulic and air railroad power tools.
  • Attend after-hour/weekend callouts to repair damage to tracks due to derailments.
  • Assist in re-railing train cars.
  • Follow company and federal safety rules, policies, and procedures—wear required safety equipment, respond to safety concerns.
What We Need From You
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must pass assessments/trainings, background check, pre-employment drug screen, and random drug tests.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in railroad or heavy construction preferred but not required.
  • Willing and able to travel to various job sites, including overnight stays, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to understand and respond to verbal/visual signals; recognize hazards.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 100 pounds, standing, walking, climbing, and other physical activities.
