Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is hiring a Railroad Flagger in Eugene, OR to keep crews safe by controlling train movements and enforcing federal safety rules.

Travel is required (50–85%). The role requires at least 2 years of railroad experience and strong communication, organization, and safety skills, with duties including site coordination, clear dispatch and crew communication, safety briefings, and training compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of railroad experience or related field experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of railroad safety rules and procedures.
• Willing to travel for long periods and on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities at the job site
• Communicate clearly with dispatchers, train crews, and contractors
• Lead safety briefings before work begins
• Follow and enforce railroad, state, and federal rules
• Ensure contractors meet training requirements
• Spot and address any rule violations
• Complete daily reports on work activities
• Maintain on-track safety following federal regulations
