Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a Class A CDL.
• Must be fluent in the English language.
• Must be available to work varied schedules depending on the workload.
• Must work well with others.
• Experience in railroad track construction and/or maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of safe procedures for operating equipment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• May work as a member of a crew or independently.
• May work under direction of a Railroad Track Repair Leader or Railroad Track Welder and may direct helpers.
• Operate rail mounted heavy duty trucks with hydraulic cranes and perform routine maintenance.
• Install and repair railroad track and embankments including special track work, road crossings, signage, and rail lubrication tasks.
