Job summary

Cordoba Corporation is seeking a Railroad Bridge Engineer to join its Transportation Sector in Sacramento, CA. You will oversee engineering work, review designs, evaluate submittals, and assist construction teams to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of bridge or structural engineering experience (9+ years without degree).
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, seismic design, and railroad construction methods.
• Ability to interpret plans, calculations, specifications and construction documents.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for bridge construction and inspection activities.
• Review bridge design plans, calculations, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Evaluate contractor proposals and field design changes for compliance.
• Coordinate with engineers, constructors, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Review concrete placement, reinforcement, post-tensioning, and temporary works.
• Perform analyses to support sequencing, constructability, and design deviations.
• Ensure activities comply with plans, specs, and safety requirements.
• Support claim evaluations with technical documentation and analyses.
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
• Prepare technical memoranda and final acceptance documentation.
