Job summary

Cranemasters is seeking a Car Repairman to join our operations. You will perform maintenance, repair, fabrication, and welding on railcars while upholding safety and quality standards.

This 24/7 emergency response role requires on-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and occasional travel to customer sites. The ideal candidate has AWS welding certification, strong teamwork, and the ability to read and follow industry regulations.

Qualifications

• AWS welding certification required.
• Knowledge of freight car components, AAR Field Manual, and FRA standards.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, E-Rail Safe, CSX On-Track Safety).

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, welding, and fabrication on railcars to meet safety and quality standards.
• Prepare and inspect work vehicles, tools, and materials before and after job assignments.
• Participate in job briefings and promote a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Ensure proper cleanup, restocking, and organization of equipment and job sites.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
