Job summary

Cypress Rail Solutions is hiring Heavy Assemblers (Railcar Repair Technicians) in Omaha, NE for maintenance and repair of tank cars and rail components. This full-time technical role offers hands-on training and growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates have 0-1 year mechanical repair experience, basic drawing reading skills, and the ability to work safely with PPE; you will inspect, disassemble, and reassemble valve assemblies and assist with tests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-1 year mechanical repair experience preferred.
• Read basic drawings/specs and work instructions.
• Use hand/power tools, torque wrenches, calipers.
• Safety, PPE, LOTO and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with valve removal/installation under guidance.
• Perform basic inspection, cleaning, and parts preparation.
• Support pressure/leak tests and document results on travelers.
• Maintain tooling, test benches, and work area.
• Complete work orders, measurements, and part traceability.
• Follow safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Complete required training and maintain qualifications.
• Demonstrate first-pass yield and on-time travelers.
