Job summary

PSC Group is seeking a Rail Switching Technician to join our outdoor operations team in an industrial facility. The role involves moving railcars, ensuring correct spotting, braking, and secure couplings to support safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Experience is a plus but not required; paid on-the-job training is available.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and/or a valid TWIC card depending on location.
• Must be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Must wear all required PPE and pass medical examinations as needed.
• Speak, read, write fluent English.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality required.
• Previous military experience and follow-through is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, loading, or outbound movement.
• Ensures railcars are properly connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings.
• Separates loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars.
• Weighs inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits.
• Performs additional duties to support safe and efficient rail operations.
