Job summary

Compass Rail Services LLC is seeking a Railcar Repair Technician in Florida to perform inspections and minor repairs on freight railcars. You will identify defects, perform safe repairs, and ensure FRA/AAR compliance. A valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a CDL are preferred.

The role offers a full-time schedule with an hourly pay range of $21.58 to $34.00, plus benefits and a bonus program based on efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in mechanical railcar repair or inspection preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, repair manuals, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of freight railcars to detect defects and wear.
• Execute minor running repairs and part replacements.
• Document defects and repairs per FRA and AAR rules.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Operate hand and power tools and coordinate with yardmasters and dispatchers.
