Job summary

Foley Equipment is seeking a Railcar Mover Resident Field Technician/Mechanic to provide on-site troubleshooting, service, and repair of railcar movers at customer locations. Based in eastern or southeastern Colorado, you will support customers across the region and represent Foley Equipment with professionalism and skill.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment runs safely and reliably.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, and precision measuring tools/instruments.
• Ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, and related publications.
• Ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and preventive maintenance on railcar moving equipment and evaluate items for further preventive maintenance with the customer.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, provide repair recommendations, and perform critical repairs and adjustments.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Some troubleshooting on equipment may occasionally be required.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on repairs.
• Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers.
• Travel for training and/or to assist at other locations.

As aRailcar Mover Resident Field Technician, you'll be the go-to expert for our customers, providing on-site troubleshooting, service, and repair of railcar movers directly at their work locations. This position operates as a Field Technician based ineastern or southeastern Colorado, allowing you to support customers throughout the region. In this hands-on role, you'll represent Foley Equipment with professionalism and skill, ensuring our customers' equipment stays running safely and reliably. Your work helps keep critical operations moving forward. Hourly Base Rate: $33.82 - $63.63 / hour Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Location: Eastern Colorado

Job duties

• Perform repair and preventive maintenance on railcar moving equipment and evaluating for other preventative maintenance items to address with the customer.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
• Some troubleshooting on equipment may occasionally be required
• Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
• Develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships with customers
• Must be willing to work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and available for after-hours calls as needed
• Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.

Physical & Working Requirements

• This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
• Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
• Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
• Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
• Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
• Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
• Safely operating tools and equipment

• Railcar mover maintenance and repair experience (Shuttlewagon preferred)
• Understand crane hoist and rigging equipment (preferred)
• Stable work history
• Valid Class A CDL
