Job summary

IMKO Workforce Solutions seeks a dedicated Railcar Assistant to support railcar and fabrication shop tasks in our Missouri facility. You will assist welders, fitters, and mechanics, perform ground work, and ensure switches and couplings are correctly aligned.

The role includes operating forklifts, cranes, and hand tools, completing pre-startup inspections, and maintaining an organized yard with safe work practices. Overtime may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Assist with railcar and fabrication shop tasks.
• Perform ground work including coupling/uncoupling cars and aligning switches.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand tools safely.
• Complete pre-start up switch engine inspection and daily checklist.
• Maintain an organized storage yard and safe work environment.
• Overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders, fitters, and mechanics with railcar tasks.
• Support track maintenance activities like driving spikes and lubricating switches.
• Handle scrap, waste, and recyclable materials per safety guidelines.
• Perform general shop cleaning and material handling.
