Job summary

Harbor Rail Services seeks an AAR Repairman in Benicia, CA to inspect and repair railcars per AAR standards. Work is hands-on in a busy yard with strict safety protocols and detailed documentation.

The role requires 1+ year railcar repair experience, basic welding/tool skills, and a valid driver's license. You will prepare cars for service, report findings, and support team goals daily.

Qualifications

• High attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
• Familiar with tools: power tools, welding machines, air compressors, oxy torch.
• Experience in railcar inspection or repair preferred.
• Must read/write English fluently and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and repairs to meet regulatory standards.
• Operate equipment safely.
• Prepare railcars for service via pre/post-repair inspections.
• Complete repair reports and maintain records.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and health policy compliance.
• Coordinate with team to meet location goals.
• Manage inventory and tools for repair tasks.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
