Responsibilities

• Inspect locomotives and ensure fuel, sand, water, and supplies are ready.
• Operate locomotive controls and switches.
• Follow signals, safety rules, and train orders.
• Assist with switching and movement of railcars.
• Operate trackside equipment and use hand signals or radios.
