Railserve, part of Marmon Holdings, is hiring dependable Rail Switching Technicians in Decatur, IL for our outdoor, hands-on operations. This entry-level role includes comprehensive training and a path to a long-term career in rail operations.

As a full-time position, you will operate locomotives, assist with switching, and ensure safe movement of railcars. Pay ranges from $20.25 to $24.75 per hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment.
• Ability to climb on and off railcars, ladders, and platforms.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable with reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect locomotives and perform pre-operation checks.
• Operate locomotives and switching operations.
• Assist with movement and placement of railcars.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
• Support training of new employees.
