Job summary

Savage is seeking a Day Shift Rail Transload Operator in Elko, NV. The role involves safely transloading hazardous and non-hazardous liquids and dry bulk products, operating loading equipment and mobile vehicles, and participating in safety training with occasional travel. Steel-toed boots and a clean driving record preferred.

This is a full-time position with built-in overtime. The work location is Elko, NV, with a 6 a.m.–4 p.m. schedule from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Rail switching/locomotive experience preferred.
• Equipment operating experience preferred.
• Must follow written/verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Pass a skills test on the type of work performed.
• Dependability in attendance; may work holidays and OT.
• Willingness to travel to other sites as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Safely transload various materials including hazardous and non-hazardous bulk liquids and dry bulk products.
• Operate trans-loading equipment such as air compressors, boilers, transfer pumps, filtration units, portable conveyors and hand tools.
• Operate mobile equipment including golf carts and utility vehicles.
• Participate in hazardous materials handling and safety training; occasional travel may be required.
• Assist with general maintenance, cleanup, and other duties as assigned.

Day Shift|Rail Transload Operator in Elko, NV.

• Pay range $26.00 to $30.00 per hour
• Full-Time
• Monday to Friday, 6 a.m.- 4 p.m.– Built-in overtime!

What You’ll Be Doing

• Safely transloadvarious materials consisting of both hazardous and non-hazardous bulk liquids and dry bulk products
• Operatetrans-loadingequipment including anair compressor, boiler system, transfer pumps, filtration units, portable conveyor system, and hand tools
• Operate mobile equipment including golf carts, passenger vehicles, light and heavy utility vehicles
• Participate in hazardous material handling and safety training programs, which may require brief and occasional travel
• Assist with general maintenance, clean-up, and other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Commitment to working safely at all times
• Ability to work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)
• Climb on and off rail-carsand locomotives safely, operate at heights
• Operate rail-carhand brakes & switches
• In good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
• Consistently sit, kneel, squat, bend, stand and climb on elevated surfaces
• Work, walk, and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time
• Lift 15 lbs. and work safely with this weight at knee, waist and shoulder level
• Lift up to 70 lbs consistently throughout the course of a shift
• Operate basic hand tools
• Wear required PPE
