Job summary

Valley Metro RPTA is seeking a Track Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, reliable light rail infrastructure through inspections, maintenance, and repairs of tracks and related components.

Position requires operating hi-rail vehicles and cranes, performing welding and cutting as needed, and maintaining detailed maintenance records while adhering to safety policies and pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, plus two years as a maintenance laborer with repairs, inspections, and crane/power tool use.
• DOT physical examination required for employment.
• Pre-employment drug testing is required; safety-sensitive role.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on tracks and related components.
• Operate hi-rail vehicles, small cranes, and other track maintenance equipment.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; respond to emergencies and support surfacing/aligning operations.
