Job summary

American Track in Florida invites energetic applicants for a hands-on railroad labor role. You will help build and maintain tracks, install embankments, and support infrastructure as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications include being 18+, readiness for background checks and drug screenings, and the ability to travel to multiple sites. A high school diploma is preferred but not required, with training provided on the job.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screen; willingness for random drug tests.
• High School diploma or equivalent; railroad or heavy construction experience preferred but not required.
• Willing to travel to various job sites, including overnight stays and short-notice mobilization.
• Work in all weather conditions and follow signals, warnings, and safety rules.
• Interact as a team member and sometimes work unsupervised; physical tasks required.

Responsibilities

• Carry and place track materials using standard railroad maintenance tools.
• Install railroad tracks and embankments including road crossing signage and rail lubricator.
• Perform track maintenance and construction tasks like changing rails, ties, and adjusting switches.
• Operate picks, shovels, spike mauls and specialized hydraulic/air tools.
• Attend after-hours/weekend callouts to repair derailment damage.
• Assist in re-railing train cars.
• Comply with company and federal rules, wear safety equipment, and report hazards.
