Job summary

Guardian Rail is seeking a Valve Technician I at Amarillo Tank Shop, Amarillo, TX. The role involves removing, tagging, repairing and testing valve components on tank cars, following FRA, AAR, and customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to read and understand Guardian Rail work orders and follow procedures.
• Must maintain a safety and quality mindset.
• Able to work in hot/cold outdoor conditions around heavy equipment and railcars.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform recordkeeping per EH&S rules.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders to perform valve removal and repair.
• Coordinate repairs efficiently within assigned hours.
• Record maintenance data, test results, material use and repairs.
• Notify supervisor of materials/equipment needs to complete tasks.
• Interact with crew and supervisor in a team environment; follow safety rules.
• Comply with Guardian Rail quality programs and FRA/AAR rules; perform special projects as assigned.
