Railserve in Magna, Utah, is hiring dependable Rail Switching Technicians for daily railyard operations. This full-time, hands-on role supports the safe movement, placement, and switching of railcars to meet customer schedules.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be able to work outdoors in varying weather, pass a physical, drug screen, and background check. Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives (electric, diesel-electric, or gas-turbine-electric).
• Perform railcar switching and placement according to schedules.
• Interpret train orders, signals, and operating procedures.
• Inspect locomotives prior to operation.
• Operate ground switches, derails, and gates.
• Control equipment movement using radios, signals and lanterns.
• Couple and uncouple railcars and connect air hoses.
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment.
• Observe tracks for safety hazards or obstructions.
• Complete reports related to delays or incidents.
