PSC Group is seeking dependable, safety-minded individuals for a Rail Switching Operator role in Martinez, CA. This full-time, outdoor position focuses on moving railcars within an industrial facility to support daily logistics operations, with paid training and long-term career opportunities.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to procedures while handling rail equipment and performing weight checks and car separation tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience is a plus but not required; paid on-the-job training is available.
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Speak, write, read fluent English with clear communication.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required.
• Previous military experience and following procedures is a plus.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and/or a valid TWIC card depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Reviews track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, separating, loading, or outbound movement.
• Ensures railcars are properly connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings.
• Separates loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars.
• Weighs inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits.
• Performs additional duties as needed to support safe and efficient rail operations.

• Weighs inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits
• Performs additional duties as needed to support safe and efficient rail operations

Job Qualifications:

• Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
• May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
