Job summary

PSC Group is hiring a dependable Rail Switching Technician to support our outdoor rail yard operations. This full-time role focuses on moving railcars safely and efficiently, emphasizing teamwork and strict safety protocols.

You will receive on-the-job training, wear PPE, and undergo drug screening and background checks. 18+ and eligible to work in the U.S. are required; prior rail experience is welcome but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training is available.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and/or a TWIC card depending on location.
• Must be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Must pass a drug screen, physical and background check.
• Must wear all required PPE and pass medical exams as needed.
• Fluent reading, writing, and spoken English.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality are required.
• Previous military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, loading, or outbound movement.
• Ensures railcars are properly connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings.
• Separates loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars.
• Weighs inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits.
• Performs additional duties to support safe and efficient rail operations.
