Job summary

PSC Group seeks a site supervisor to manage daily operations, enforce safety, and coordinate labor, equipment, and scheduling at our Columbia, SC facility. You will lead on-site teams, ensure compliance with procedures, and communicate with leadership to drive performance and safety culture.

Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of field manuals and vehicle car types, plus demonstrated coaching abilities and readiness for on-site work in industrial environments.

Qualifications

  • Speak, write, read fluent English.
  • Regular on-site attendance is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the AAR Field Manual.
  • Strong knowledge of tank cars, hopper cars, and gondola cars.
  • Wear PPE and pass medical examination related to PPE.
  • Work in outdoor industrial environments with potential chemicals.

Responsibilities

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Directly manages site-level workgroups to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality daily operations.
  • Enforces procedures, safety policies, and work instructions to maintain compliance and operational consistency.
  • Monitors team productivity and performance, providing coaching and corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinates labor, equipment, and scheduling to meet customer and production requirements.
  • Schedules daily workload – coordinates with on‑site contacts to schedule work in a timely manner.
  • Maintains communication with leadership and other departments to support operational goals.
  • Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement among team members.
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to fulfill the job.
Job Requirements
  • Speak, write, read fluent English; have good vision and hearing.
  • Regular on‑site attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of the AAR Field Manual and Clll Manual.
  • Must have strong knowledge of tank cars, hopper cars, and gondola cars along with customer procedures and SDS’s.
  • Work outside in environmental conditions including extreme heat or extreme cold.
  • Work may involve exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, or other normal industrial facility conditions.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE.
Work Schedule

Monday – Friday Day Shift (some weekends required).
