Job description

STV is seeking a dynamic and experienced Rail Project Manager to join our New Jersey-based team. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing Rail projects and driving business growth within the Rail sector. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication, and relationship‑building skills to pursue new business opportunities while ensuring successful project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the successful delivery of Rail projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. Plan project execution, develop the project management plan, schedule and monitor manpower, manage scope, schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, communications, coordination, discipline requirements, resources, procurement, and risk elements to optimize client service and fiscal responsibility. Select, supervise, develop, and evaluate personnel.
  • Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure projects are delivered with minimal disruption.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on technical and project insights related to Rail matters.
  • Allocate resources, scheduling and monitoring staffing against project performance and budget.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential Rail clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to increase visibility and expand contacts within the Rail industry.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering teams, business development, and marketing, to develop and implement strategies for business growth.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes, incorporating them into business development strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, or structural engineering, or a related field.
  • NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 15+ years of experience in Rail project management and business development, with a track record of driving business growth and delivering successful Rail projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Rail engineering principles, standards, and practices.
  • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking, with ability to identify and pursue new Rail business opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with Rail clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
  • Experience in proposal development, bid management, and contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, motivating and inspiring cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, results‑oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, project assignments, and industry events.
  • PMP certification highly encouraged.
Compensation Range

$172,102.32 - $196,688.36
