Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Landside Transportation Rail Operations expert to drive efficient intermodal rail network performance. You will collaborate with rail vendors and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective cargo movement, data-driven decisions, and continuous improvement across procurement, product, sales, and finance.

The role requires 2+ years in transportation/logistics, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• College degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation and/or logistics, preferably rail.
• Self-motivated and independent with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and management skills; supports corporate policy and objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications in a networked environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee movement of rail cargo.
• Monitor cargo within rail network to ensure timely and safe delivery.
• Monitor terminal rail and on-rail dwells.
• Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Serve as escalation point for a broad internal stakeholder landscape.
• Guide on operational feasibility of contingencies, ad hoc solutions, and new product offerings.
• Work with procurement, product, sales, and finance to ensure alignment and effective communication.
