Drummac, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Apprentice (Qualified Person) to maintain and repair passenger rail cars and locomotives under the supervision of the Passenger Rail Mechanic, complying with safety policies.

Duties include air brake inspections, daily locomotive checks, troubleshooting and replacing parts, electrical tests, and documenting findings. Required: high school diploma or GED, trade school or railroad mechanic training, valid driver’s license, and successful completion of a

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Trade school or railroad locomotive/diesel maintenance training required.
Knowledge of locomotive mechanical or locomotive electrical systems advantageous.
Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process required.

Responsabilités

Performs air brake inspection of passenger cars and locomotives and has knowledge of air brake systems.
Performs locomotive daily inspection; troubleshoot and repair/replace parts as needed.
Troubleshoots passenger cars (toilets, A/C, doors, panels, lights, electrical systems, brake systems) and performs repairs.
Completes regulatory, client and company-required paperwork.
Performs electrical tests and maintains batteries and electrical components on locomotives.
Communicates inspection findings to Supervisor, in writing or verbally.
Overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call work may be required.
Works outdoors in varied weather and wears protective equipment.
