Job summary

Highland Pellets is seeking an on-site Railcar Loader to match loading schedules with the Bill of Lading and to perform daily loading records. The role includes ensuring railcars are properly positioned, visually inspected for mechanical soundness, and loaded according to instruction with careful attention to safety and paperwork completion.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, two years in manufacturing, and familiarity with railcar/track duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with railcar/track duties is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Matches Loading Schedule to Bill of Lading.
  • Fills out Daily Loading Records.
  • Ensures Railcar is positioned and secured at proper loading location.
  • Visually inspects the railcar to ensure mechanical soundness before loading.
  • Connects loading arm/hose.
  • Checks vessel for last product contained.
  • Loads railcar according to instructions using loading scales and procedures.
  • Disconnects loading arm/hose and inspects for leaks; completes paperwork before releasing railcar.
  • Communicates equipment deficiencies to team members and management.
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail and follows written and verbal instructions.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal codes and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Connects Loading Arm/Hose.
  • Checks Vessel for Last Product Contained.
  • Loads Railcar According to Instructions Using Loading Scales and Step by Step Procedures.
  • Disconnects Loading Arm/Hose, inspects for any Leaks and Completes Required Paperwork Prior to Releasing Railcar.
  • Effectively Communicate to All Team Members and Management any Equipment Deficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Education.
  • Two Years’ Experience in Manufacturing Environment.
  • Preferable Experience in Railcar/Track Duties.
  • Ability to Understand and Follow Written and Verbal Job Requirements.
  • Ability to Work Well in High Places in Excess Of 80 Feet, Use Man Lifts, And Work in Confined Spaces.
  • Ability to Climb Ladders, Stairs, Scaffolding and Ramps.
  • Ability to Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, Reach, Stand, Walk, Push, Pull, Lift and Grasp.
  • Ability to Work Outside in Environmental Conditions.
  • Ability to Lift Up To 100 Pounds of Force Occasionally, and/or up to 50 Pounds of Force Frequently, and/or up to 20 Pounds of Force Constantly.
