Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Services, Inc. (GRSI) in Worcester, MA seeks a Director of Industrial Development to plan, direct and collaborate on industrial development initiatives across the network. You will lead growth opportunities, build relationships with EDAs and state agencies, manage projects, and mentor staff.

This role requires directing initiatives, promoting sites, responding to inquiries, and traveling up to 70% to drive expansion and revenue across our rail network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of railroad or related industry marketing and/or sales experience preferred.
• At least 5 years of business development in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Attract, develop and facilitate new growth opportunities along Genesee & Wyoming rail lines.
• Promote sites for new build and expansion projects; conduct proactive meetings.
• Respond to site search inquiries and provide strategic direction.
• Develop proposals for new business opportunities and close deals.
• Perform reporting and analyze industrial development results.
