Job summary

Hitachi Rail USA, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Electrical Engineer for the Hagerstown, MD location. The role covers a broad range of electrical design tasks within engineering, requiring collaboration across teams and quick adaptation to a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to bid support, system architecture Definition, and verification of technical documents, with opportunities for growth in railway technology and international projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering discipline is required.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Electrical Equipment Engineering.
• Knowledge of pantograph, high voltage energy measurement, and low voltage battery systems.
• RAMS concepts knowledge is advantageous.
• Familiarity with railway standards EN50155/EN50153/EN45545/TSIs.
• Proficiency with MS Office and CAD tools; DOORS recommended.

Responsibilities

• Support bid and project development for electrical design of equipment.
• Define conceptual solution and equipment architecture from requirements and vehicle configuration.
• Prepare system requirements specifications and analyze supplier proposals.
• Check technical descriptions and verify drawings for installation on board.
• Prepare functional requirements specification for TCMS integration.
