Job summary

Arcwood Environmental in Indianapolis seeks a Rail Driver to support specialized projects and core operations. You will drive semi-vans, roll-off trailers, and dump trailers locally and may travel overnight for projects. Pay incentives are included for travel and performance.

We value safety, compliance, and teamwork. Qualifications include a High-school diploma, 1+ years of CDL driving, and Tanker/Hazmat endorsements.

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 1+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (required).
  • Tanker/Hazmat endorsements (required).
  • 3+ years of CDL driving experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices
  • Drive and operate semi-vans, roll-off trailers, and dump trailers as needed
  • Report to Company Transport dispatchers with daily instructions to move trailers containing customer materials to disposal sites or client yards/facilities
  • Prepare for daily trips by inspecting vehicle and equipment, fueling, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent operating order
  • Complete manifests, bill of lading documents, company forms, and other marking/placarding documents for every load
  • Inspect drums/containers on loads to ensure proper labels and markings
  • Maintain logbook for DOT and State/Federal regulations compliance
  • Transport waste material to customer sites or facilities and collect hazardous and non-hazardous material as required
  • Act as company representative with courteous conduct toward customers
  • Load drums or freight and prepare roll-off boxes and dump trailers
  • Maintain ability to travel overnight and participate in on-call rotation
  • Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
