Job summary

RailWorks is seeking an Estimator to prepare take-offs and cost estimates for civil and rail projects. The role supports bids and buy-out, leveraging plan interpretation, contract review, and subcontractor pricing to build accurate, competitive proposals.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in construction estimating, a relevant bachelor's degree, and proficiency with take-off software. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and long-term growth within RailWorks.

Qualifications

3+ years of construction estimating experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
Ability to read and interpret plans and contract documents.
Strong verbal and written communication and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints and documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Solicit subcontractor pricing and evaluate bids for scope and completeness.
Prepare quantity surveys, take-offs, and bid documentation for multimillion-dollar projects.
Review contracts to ensure alignment with bid documents and project plans.
Coordinate with estimating staff and management for bid day and project hand-off.
Familiarity with Bluebeam or equivalent take-off software.
