Job summary

Stadler Rail AG in Salt Lake City is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Coatings and Surfaces to join an international team designing state-of-the-art passenger trains, focusing on coatings, surface treatments, and corrosion protection.

You will develop specifications, review drawings, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure feasible, compliant designs using CAD tools.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD and PLM software (Catia V5 & SmarTeam PLM a plus).
• Understanding of wetting, adhesion, cohesion and corrosion fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Write and develop technical specifications.
• Specify surface treatment of parts to meet requirements.
• Specialize in surface treatment and corrosion protection techniques.
• Create and review coating specifications for various components and substrates.
• Design products using CAD per standards and regulations.
• Consult with engineering and manufacturing to ensure feasibility.
• Review and release technical drawings.
• Calculate tolerances, dimensions, and perform thermal/structural analysis.
