Job summary

CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) seeks a Front Line Supervisor to ensure cleanliness of its rail cars by coordinating, supervising, and overseeing car servicers, vendors, and other staff.

This role maintains quality standards across terminal platforms, yards, routes and campaigns. You will adjust schedules, respond to complaints, and prepare shift reports to keep the fleet in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience supervising large workforce, especially in a union environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Rail Safety Training certification required.

Responsibilities

• Visually surveys rail cars to determine immediate service needs or ongoing cleaning cycles.
• Coordinates platform, campaign, and shop activities to meet quality and service standards.
• Assists management with disciplinary interviews and investigations.
• Prepares shift service and quality reports for management oversight.
• Ensures staff techniques and equipment usage meet standards across shifts and locations.
• Reviews reports and disseminates safety/training bulletins to staff.
• Interfaces with other departments and vendors to resolve problems.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
