Job summary

A leading engineering company is seeking a Project Engineer in Baltimore, Maryland, specializing in transportation design. The role includes overseeing Junior Project Engineers and ensuring project involvement from feasibility analysis through to construction. Candidates must have a Professional Engineer license and around 3 years of experience in railroad projects, along with proficiency in software such as Microstation and AutoCAD. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation design, particularly railroad projects.
  • Hands-on experience with relevant software tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities
  • Serve in a technical role, under the direction of a Project Manager
  • Oversee the work of EITs and Junior Project Engineers
  • Take responsibility for project involvement, ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in transportation design - railroad projects
Required Qualifications
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng))
  • Hands‑on experience with Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting
  • MS Office software experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication and project management skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
