GFT is seeking a Bridge Engineer - Rail to join our Transportation Team. The role follows a hybrid work model with attendance at our US offices in Downtown Chicago, Kansas City, Boston, Jacksonville, Omaha, or Atlanta, among others.

The engineer will lead complex rail bridge design tasks, perform analyses, inspections, and prepare load ratings, construction documents, and estimates. Strong communication and travel are essential.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering with ABET accreditation.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in structural design for Class I and transit bridges.
• PE license and proficiency with AREMA standards.
• Familiarity with Class I railroad bridge standards and design software.

Mansioni

• Lead complex design tasks for rail bridge projects, including design, rehabilitation and inspection.
• Prepare load ratings, construction documents, specifications, and estimates.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to budgets, schedules and standards.
• Check calculations and drawings, assist with CADD development.
• Document calculations per Quality Management Plan and interpret contract changes.
• Travel within the continental United States for projects.
