Job summary

KBX Logistics LLC is seeking a Transportation Asset Market Analyst to partner with leadership, using market intelligence, economic analysis, and financial modeling to evaluate transportation asset investments and guide capital allocation. You will translate complex market dynamics into clear recommendations, identify opportunities, assess risks, and support growth of KBX's transportation asset platform.

The role spans market research, modeling, underwriting support, and strategy development

Qualifications

Experience building financial models in Excel and other tools.
Ability to evaluate investments using IRR, NPV, ROCC, and related metrics.
Experience performing market analysis and translating data into recommendations.
Familiarity with AI tools to improve analysis efficiency.
Background in rail, transportation, logistics, leasing, or asset-intensive industries.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain market perspectives across transportation asset markets, especially rail.
Analyze supply/demand fundamentals, asset utilization, lease-rate movements, and macro indicators.
Identify opportunities, threats, and market inflection points for asset strategy.
Synthesize data into actionable insights, market outlooks, and investment theses.
Build and maintain financial models for acquisitions, leases, and growth initiatives.
Evaluate opportunities using IRR, ROIC, NPV, and related metrics.
Support underwriting with scenario and sensitivity analyses for portfolios.
Evaluate acquisitions, portfolio transactions, and other growth initiatives.
Research adjacent transportation sectors and capital-structure considerations.
Communicate findings through concise reports and executive-ready presentations.
