Job description

The Raider Shop Manager provides management of the Regis Jesuit High School retail shop (Raider Shop) along with guidance from an internal team (Raider Shop Guidance Committee).The position is part of the Business Office and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Thisis a year-round, non-exempt position that is eligible for benefits.Starting salary is $26/hour. To learn more about Regis Jesuit High School and to review our benefits, please click here.

Essential Job Functions
  • Plan, organize and supervise the operation of the high school retail store; develop proposals regarding changes to operations and procedures in assigned areas of responsibility; prepare or supervise preparation of purchase orders supplies and other merchandise
  • Analyze and continuously improve the online Raider Shop store experience with focus on customer service and increased profitability
  • Prepare and maintain records of departmental budget, annual sales and expenses; review and evaluate sales figures against budget to assure compliance with budgetary controls and perform needed adjustments; prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to sales, purchases, inventory and budgets
  • Manage to profitability criteria set by employee and supervisor
  • Be present at specified off-hour events for home football games, special events, etc. and lead the coordination with volunteer support
  • Order all merchandise and create merchandising relationships for a range of clothing options
  • Determine selling price and ensure all items ordered are received
  • Make all cash deposits, checking the accuracy of all vendor invoices
  • Monitor daily cash drawer balances
  • Manage inventory levels and prepare the Year End inventory report
  • Develop relationships with peer schools to share strategies and best practices
  • Review transactions monthly with the Business Office to ensure accuracy
  • Work closely with the Communications Office to promote the Raider Shop on the website with appropriate email blasts and via social media
  • Work with individuals, Athletics, and club moderators for special orders
  • Deliver merchandise to team parents or club moderators for sorting and student delivery
  • Evaluate and determine the need for the addition or deletion of items to be stocked in the bookstore; maintain current knowledge of changes and trends in the bookstore/retail market; research and evaluate market trends and needs
  • Prepare work orders for needed repairs and maintenance of the bookstore facility
  • Serve as a member on various College committees and teams
  • Participate in staff development activities for management/administrative personnel
  • Commitment to the mission of the school, including attending masses and prayer services, modeling Christian values, and participating in service and/or retreat opportunities.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)
  • Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, marketing or related field and three years managerial experience in retail environment
  • Basic knowledge of budgeting and best practices of business management
  • Knowledge of merchandising, planning, stock, and inventory control management
  • Knowledge of internet retail sales (Preferred)
  • Strong background in social media marketing (Preferred)
  • Display and promotion experience
  • Knowledge of financial record-keeping management (Preferred)
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs
