Job summary

FOX VALLEY ORTHOPEDICS in Geneva, IL seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform X-ray exams for inpatients, outpatients and ER patients across multiple Illinois sites.

Full-time position with 40 hours per week, varying days including evenings and rotating Saturdays. Compensation ranges from $29.25 to $35.50 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Performs quality X-ray exams and acquires images for interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and team members.

Responsibilities

• Call in on-call staff when necessary.
• Perform safety evaluations on radiology equipment per policy.
• Assess patient ability to comply with exam requirements.
• Clearly communicate directions to obtain optimal images.
• Attend department meetings and participate in performance improvement.
• Interact with patients and families of all ages.
• Work independently or in a team to complete exams in a fast-paced setting.
• Screen patient history prior to contrast administration.
• Screen imaging orders for accuracy.

Position Summary

The Radiology Technologist, serves a diverse patient population in an ever-changing, fast paced environment. Our X-ray technologist images our inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients for x-rays.

Locations: Geneva, Elgin, & Yorkville, Illinois (must be willing to travel to multiple site locations)

Status: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)

Days/Hours: Varying days, including evenings and rotating Saturdays

Pay Rate: $29.25 - $35.50/Hour (Minimum to Mid-Point, based on experience)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Performs quality X-ray exams, acquiring necessary images for interpretation by a supervising radiologist.
• Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner.

Essential Job Functions

• Call in on-call staff when necessary.
• Perform safety evaluations on the radiology equipment following established policies and procedures to detect problems.
• Assess the ability of the patient to comply with the physical requirements of the exam.
• Ability to clearly communicate directions with the patient to get the exam completed with optimal images obtained.
• Attend and participate in department meetings.
• Participate in annual performance improvement education.
• Ability to manage and interact with patients and families of all age groups.
• Able to perform independently or as a team to complete a variety of exams in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to accurately screen and document patient's history prior to contrast administration.
• Able to screen imaging orders to ensure accuracy.
• Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
