HCA Florida Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for a full-time weekend role.

You will perform radiographic procedures, ensure image quality, and support physicians in diagnoses with precision and compassionate care. Responsibilities include patient positioning, equipment checks, accurate MEDITECH documentation, and strong teamwork with radiologists and staff.

Qualifications

• Florida-licensed radiology technologist with ARRT certification.
• Active Florida DOH licensure (CRT) and current BLS certification.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs and assist in patient positioning.

Responsibilities

• Acquire diagnostic radiographs with proper markers and timing.
• Select appropriate technical factors for each exam and assist with contrast if needed.
• Prepare and position patients while maintaining modesty and safety.
• Document exam information in MEDITECH accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists and care teams.
• Ensure equipment readiness and maintain room cleanliness to prevent contamination.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for a full-time opportunity. You will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients which will assist physicians in diagnoses and treatment and perform procedures accurately and in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner. Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) may include but are not limited to:

• Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures

• Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated

• Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist in administration of contrast media when indicated

• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated

• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.

• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist

• Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies

Qualifications:

• 2-year/Associate degree

• Hospital-based Radiologic Technology program

• Valid ARRT certification

• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
