Job summary

UAB Medicine’s St. Vincent’s Birmingham North Tower Imaging department seeks a part-time radiology technologist to perform imaging under a radiologist. The role includes X-ray, DEXA, CT, MRI and ultrasound with emphasis on breast imaging, and may perform DEXA bone density procedures.

The candidate will prepare and position patients, obtain quality images, administer contrast within scope, and ensure safety and proper PACS submission in an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• BLs Provider within 30 days of hire date required.
• Bone density certification may be required within 6 months.
• CCI/ARRT/ARDMS/sonography credentials may be required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiological procedures under radiologist supervision.
• Position patients and select exposure factors.
• Administer contrast media within scope.
• Monitor protocols and ensure patient safety.
• Submit high-quality images to PACS with correct patient data.
• Maintain a clean, orderly department.
