Position Overview

Performs imaging / therapeutic services and patient care in support of the Radiology Department's mission to provide diagnostic information for patient treatment at WVU Medicine.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE

• Completion of an Accredited Radiography School
• Must be registered (or registry eligible) by the ARRT in Radiography. If eligible, must pass boards within 6 months of hire (West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland) or 1 year (Pennsylvania).
• Radiologist Technologist certification through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners, or applicable state.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• State and federal criminal background checks as required.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes rotating through diagnostic areas, performing imaging procedures, producing high-quality images, minimizing radiation exposure, patient assessment, preparing contrast agents, patient education, team collaboration, equipment maintenance, and supervision of radiology students.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to differentiate shades of gray on imaging monitors.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Wear lead aprons and lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposure to minimal radiation, airborne particles, and operation of imaging equipment.
