Job summary

Intermountain Health calls for a Radiology Technologist to join its Internal Travel Program, performing exams with emphasis on patient safety and high-quality images across multiple sites in the Intermountain system.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency in clinical/technical functions.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation.
  • Perform exams per department protocol and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care.
  • Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols and equipment.
  • Provide patient education and address concerns; ensure patient comfort.
  • Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Operate equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures, and adverse reactions.
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC, and reporting equipment failures.

This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
