Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is hiring a Radiology Technologist for Hillcrest Hospital's Regional Radiology-Diagnostics Institute. You will use X-Ray equipment to obtain images for diagnosis, assist Radiologists, and ensure patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT and in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform ED/surgical procedures (trauma cases, fluoroscopic exams to include vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatrics, and general procedures).
• Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
• Perform procedures in a sterile environment and maintain patient safety at all times.
• Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed.
• Assist in scheduling patients and monitor priority of patients.
• Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.
• Demonstrates the care and operation of Radiography equipment according to technical specifications.
• Assist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures.
• Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS.
• Knowledgeable in billing via RIS.
• Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.
• Notify management and address equipment malfunctions.
• Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
• Continually learn new technical information and skills through in-service programs and professional sessions.
• May rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities and locations.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT

Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

As a Radiology Technologist, you will use the latest X-Ray equipment to obtain images utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. + on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform ED/surgical procedures (trauma cases, fluoroscopic exams to include vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatrics, and general procedures).

• Perform procedures in a sterile environment and maintain patient safety at all times.

• Assist in scheduling patients. Monitors and determines priority of patients.
• Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.
• Demonstrates the care and operation of Radiography equipment according to technical specifications and applications.
• Assist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures.
• Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS.
• When applicable, knowledge in after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
• Immediately report any malfunctions to the help desk and PACS Administrator.
• Knowledgeable in billing via RIS.
• Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.
• Notify management and takes proper action to address equipment malfunctions.
• Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
• Continually strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
• May be required to rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities and locations.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
