Job Summary

The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, applies diagnostic imaging techniques using ionizing radiation in radiology.

Essential Functions

1. Obtains patient's clinical history and lab work, ensuring documentation for use by a licensed practitioner.
2. Positions and immobilizes the patient to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient comfort.
3. Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
4. Performs radiographic procedures by operating imaging equipment and accessories.
5. Verifies informed consent and completes pre- and post-procedure documentation.
6. Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, applying aseptic techniques as needed.

Education

• Associates degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred)

Required Licensing & Certifications

• Certification and registration with ARRT (required)
• State licensure (preferred, depending on state requirements)
• BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required)

Experience

• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)
