Qualifications

We have an opportunity for a Radiology Technologist in our OrthoCarolina South Park office.

The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and using appropriate protection standards.

Essential Functions:

  1. Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
  2. Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding, and address any questions or concerns.
  3. Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  4. Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges, and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  5. Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Ensures compliance with all OrthoCarolina policies and procedures.
  6. Assists with the transportation of patients between examination modules and the Radiology department. Supports patient flow in the examination modules as directed by a supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips).
  2. Proficient in the use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
  3. Ability to identify equipment problems and correct or notify a supervisor.
  4. Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
  5. Observes safety and security procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the American Medical Association.
  • Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
  • Registered Radiology Tech by ARRT or ARRT registry eligible.
  • Current CPR certification recommended.
