Job summary

Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to support imaging exams during rotation. The role requires ensuring proper patient identification, imaging quality, and adherence to confidentiality while following imaging protocols and ALARA principles.

The successful candidate will participate in fluoroscopic procedures, educate other healthcare providers, and assist licensed practitioners in various settings, including operating rooms and ICU, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
• Preparing and/or administering medications through vascular access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
• Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
• Assisting the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Performing diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
