GENERAL OVERVIEW

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides support of coordination of staff and area functions as well as may serve as a physician liaison.

  • Oversees the daily operations and manages non-labor expenses, activities and inventory for the department; maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies. (35%)
  • Positions patients and selects anatomical and technical parameters accurately to independently perform radiographic imaging. Prepares for and assists the physician in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. May perform phlebotomy and EKG services. (30%)
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocol and imaging distribution. (10%)
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. (10%)
  • Implements radiation protection, safety standards and assures compliance in the department. (10%)
  • Coverage of chief tech duties as assigned (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification 2 years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist..
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
