Job summary

Rochelle Community Hospital in Rochelle, IL, is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographs under the supervision of a Radiologist. The role requires independent judgment for a variety of procedures and care for patients of all ages.

Graduate of an accredited Radiology program with ARRT licensure or board eligibility is required, plus continuing education. Prior experience is not required; specialized mammography or CT certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Current ARRT and IDNS license or board eligible with a temporary IEMA license; if temporary, ARRT exam must be passed within two years.
• Responsible for acquiring 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
• Previous experience not required.
• Specialized Mammography by ARRT or MQSA requirements; CT Scan certification by ARRT or specialized training in-house or vendor provided.

• Under the direction of a Radiologist, administers ionizing radiation to patients producing diagnostic radiographs.
• Performs a variety of procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.
• Meet the needs of patients of all ages physically, socially, emotionally, and culturally.

The technologist will perform a variety of procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. The individual must be able to meet the needs of patients of all ages physically, socially, emotionally, and culturally.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
• Current A.R.R.T. and I.D.N.S. license or board eligible and with a temporary IEMA license. If working with a temporary license, the A.R.R.T Boards exam must be passed within two (2) years of graduating and accredited radiology program.
• Responsible for acquiring 24 hours of continuing education hours every 2 years.
• Previous experience not required.
• Specialized Technologist.
  • Mammography-Certification by A.R.R.T or meet MQSA technologist requirements.
  • CAT Scan-Certification by A.R.R.T. or specialized training-in-house or applications to personnel provided by vendor.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Prolonged periods standing, reaching and bending.
• Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance
• Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations.
• Reasonably anticipated occupational exposure to blood, blood-borne pathogens, and other potentially infectious materials.
• Visual and hearing acuity with/without corrective devices.
• Job may require potential exposure to chemical/hazardous materials.
• Requires potential for exposure to an environmental hazard of radiation.
• Knowledge of abuse/neglect.
• Requires of performance of highly complex and various tasks during emergency situations requiring independent knowledge and judgment.
