Job Description

Christie Clinic's department of Radiology is seeking a part-time Radiology Technologist (20 hours/week and a Sign-On Bonus Available) at the University clinic, with the ability to assist other locations with varied hours between Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:30pm.

As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing diagnostic imaging procedures. Your expertise in operating radiographic equipment, your commitment to patient care, and your attention to detail are vital to our mission of providing accurate and compassionate healthcare.

Current certification, or working towards, with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and Illinois Emergency Management Association (IEMA) is required.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates competence to provide developmentally appropriate care/treatment for various age groups including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Apply knowledge of radiation protection principles for the patient, self, and others.
  • Verify correct patient identity and ensure accurate exam ordering.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and radiographic techniques to produce quality images.
  • Determine appropriate exposure factors to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy.
  • Provide patient care during radiologic procedures.
  • Recognize emergency conditions and initiate basic life support (BLS) if needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain examination rooms and stock supplies.
  • Perform minor adjustments and cleaning of radiology equipment.
  • Assist with contrast studies, including injections if trained and when a radiologist is present.
  • Accurately record data in electronic medical records and PACS systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot radiology equipment.
  • Ensure safety standards are followed to prevent hazards.
  • Train students and co-workers in equipment use and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
  • Operate office machines and computer software efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Evidence of annual CEU completion in accordance with ARRT and IEMA.
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Physical and Work Environment

Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and manual dexterity. Work is performed in a clinical outpatient setting with potential exposure to communicable diseases, radiation, and other hazards. Irregular hours may be required.
