Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center is seeking a Radiology Technologist to deliver diagnostic imaging for patients of all ages on a per diem basis. The technologist operates general radiographic procedures, mobile radiographs and mobile fluoroscopy units during surgical and invasive procedures, under supervision of the Radiologist and Department Manager.

The role requires Florida licensure, ARRT registry, and BLS certification, with on-call availability and prompt arrival.

Qualifications

  • Current State of Florida license.
  • Current ARRT registry in Radiology.
  • AHA Healthcare provider BLS.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • English verbal and written fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic imaging for patients of all ages.
  • Operate mobile fluoroscopy units to provide imaging during surgical and/or invasive procedures.
  • Be available for on-call duties and arrive within 30 minutes of notification.
  • Cross-train and float to other areas to meet facility needs.
  • Maintain stroke knowledge by completing annual 1 hour online training.

Job Requirements

Under the direct supervision of the Radiologist and the Department Manager, the technologist delivers radiographic imaging to patients of all ages. The technologist utilizes equipment and technique to assist in diagnosis or treatment (including but not limited to general radiographic procedures, mobile radiographs and operation of mobile fluoroscopy units to provide imaging during surgical and/or invasive procedures). Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or obtain specimens for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The candidate must be available for on-call duties and be prepared to arrive at the facility within thirty minutes of notification. The role includes crossing-train and floating to other areas to meet facility needs, and assisting in cross-training and orientation of others in the department as requested. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calls a stroke alert; verbalizes the stroke alert process. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1 hour online training.
