Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist (PRN) to join our imaging team. You will perform radiographs and assist physicians in diagnosis with compassionate care.

The role requires ARRT licensure, BLS, and completion of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program; duties include patient positioning, image acquisition, and documentation in MEDITECH.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school.
• Valid ARRT certification.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures.
• Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated
• Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist in administration of contrast media when indicated
• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices as appropriate
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
• Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
